Around Noria :

The Bridge Mill :

Le Moulin du Pont Vieux de St JeanYou are in the Bridge Mill whose origins date back to the XIIth century.
This mill was a working factory for many centuries, offering its valiant millstones to the inhabitants of St Jean du Bruel who used to come to have their wheat and nuts grinded.
Throughout the centuries, it has been a grinding mill, a fulling mill, a spinning mill at the mercy of the conjunctures and lately, a flour mill then a hydroelectric station, thanks to the hydraulic power  produced by the Dourbie river.
It will give a beautiful reputation to the village thanks to the quality of treatment of fabrics and cloths fulled there.
It was also an important meeting and exchange place, mainly for men as women used to rather meet at the fountain or the washhouse.
Like a ship anchored on the Dourbie riverbanks, the Bridge Mill is one of the largest buildings in this category of the Aveyron county.

St-Jean-du-Bruel :

Contreforts des CévennesBetween Causses and Cévennes, St Jean du Bruel, located at the crossroads between the Lozère, the Gard and the Hérault counties, in a green valley, is crossed by one of the most beautiful rivers in France, the « Dourbie ».
St Jean du Bruel, small straggling village of the Cévennes of 600 inhabitants, is situated at 520 meters altitude and enjoys a mediteranneean climate (cool nights in the Summer, mild and pleasant Spring and colourfull Autumn).
In a green and quiet environment, this village is the departure point to visit many touristic sites close by.
